Mary Kom created history, wins record sixth Gold Medal.

Mary Kom- Indian woman boxing legend created the history by winning the Women’s World Boxing Championship for six times.

Mary Kom defeated Ukraine’s Hanna Okhota in a unanimous 5-0 decision. The results read 30-27, 29-28, 29-28, 30-27, 30-27 in Mary Kom’s Favor. ‘Magnificent Mary’ matched Cuban men’s legend Felix Savon as the joint most successful pugilist (men and women) in the World Championships’ history.

Mary Kom won a silver in the first Women’s World Boxing Championship in 2001 and went on to win a gold in each five edition held in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010. After 8 years she created the history by winning the gold for the Sixth time.

She dedicated her sixth medal to the nation.
