Four-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians have roped in Dhawal Kulkarni from Rajasthan Royals and Trent Boult from Delhi Capitals.
Dhawal Kulkarni had an association with Mumbai Indians in the past for six long seasons – 2008 to 2013. He is also a part of the Mumbai state team and has represented Mumbai at various domestic tournaments. Kulkarni had also played for Gujrat Lions 2016-17 IPL Season. He played 10 matches in IPL 2019 for Rajasthan Royals and dismissed six batsmen at an average of 55.83, an economy rate of 9.83 and a strike rate of 35.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have also acquired left-arm fast bowler Trent Boult after being traded by Delhi Capitals. Boult made his IPL debut in 2014 and played for Delhi in the 2018 and 2019 season. He has 38 IPL wickets from 33 games.
With this MI now has 12 overseas players in the squad and will have to release at least four of them. As per the reports of ESPNcricinfo Mumbai Indians have released opening batsman Evin Lewis. Lewis, who had joined the team in IPL 2018 had a great debut season as he scored 382 runs in 13 matches. With the entry of Quinton de Kock in MI squad for the 2019 season, Evin Lewis could get only 3 matches to play.
The IPL auction for the 2020 season will take place on 19 December and there is just one day left for all the teams to announce the list of released and traded players.
