Team India is all set to sport a brand new Orange Jersey in the match against England

India is yet to showcase the highly hyped Orange jersey in the world cup 2019. Speculations were there that it might just be yet another rumor, but now an image of the jersey is making rounds on the social media. Though Indian players are yet to see the away jersey, no comments were available from the players.

Team India’s intended orange jersey was leaked on Saturday and went viral on social media. The supposed orange jersey is team India’s away jersey for the match against England on 30th June. Before the tournament, ICC had asked the 9 countries except the hosts to come up with two different colored kits – the “home” and “away”. India will be considered as the away team in the match against the host at Edgbaston, Birmingham stadium. Since England and India, both plays with blue color jersey, England as the hosts of the tournament have the first right to retain their blue color jersey.

“For televised ICC events all participating teams will be required to provide for two different colored kits, except for the host country who has a preference in the choice of color and may, if it chooses to do so, provide only one colored kit to be worn in all matches throughout the event,” the ICC had said in a statement.

An executive told TOI, “Till last week, the Indian players had not seen their new jerseys. There is still confusion among various stakeholders whether the team would actually need to don new colors.”

Popular fan of Team India and Sachin Tendulkar, Sudhir Kumar posted a photo of the rumored Indian away kit on his Instagram page.
